অভাব সেতো এক পরিণামের নাম;
অভাব সেতো এক প্রলয়ের নাম;
নিজেকে নিজের কাছে ছোট করার;
বিনষ্টকারী; যার আরেক নাম।

অভাব সেতো ভঙ্গুর দর্পণ;
অভাব যা ভাঙ্গে সব বন্ধন,
বাবা মায়ের নির্ঘুম রাতের  ;
আর সন্তানের ফুফিয়ে ক্রন্দন।


অভাব সেতো খালি পকেটের বালি;
অভাব সেতো যা মোরা মনেতেই পালি ;
মানুষের কাছে মাথা হেট করে;
সমাজের কাছে যা মাখে চুনকালি।

অভাব সেতো বাবার ছিড়া জামা;
অভাব সেতো ভাইয়ের রাগ ;
ভাইয়ে ভাইয়ে যা করে শত্রুতা
আর মায়ের মিথ্যানুরাগ।


অভাব সেতো ভাঙ্গা দুয়ার
অভাব সেতো ফুরোনো হাড়ি;
অঝোর কোন কান্নার জোয়ার ;
যা কেউ মোরা রুখতে যে পারি।

অভাব সেতো না বলা দুখ
অভাব সেতো চায়না সুখ;
ভেঙ্গে ফেলে যা সুখের সংসার
ছোট্ট বোনটির মায়া ভরা মুখ।


অভাব সেতো বাবার করা ধার;
অভাব যা করে তোলে ভাবুক,
প্রতিবেশির কাছে না জানা সুখ;
নিজের কাছে বিশাল অসুখ।

অভাব সেতো মিথ্যে প্রেম;
অভাব সেতো মিথ্যে আশা,
অমানবিক অত্যাচারে যা করে তোলে পাথর;
বিষিয়ে তোলে যা সব  ভালবাসা।

অভাব সেতো অনাহুত মেহমান,
অভাব যা সব করে বেমানান
অজানা সুখের আশাগুলো যে;
তিলে তিলে করে ভঙ্গণ।
 

অভাব সেতো নির্মম সত্য;
অভাব যা না বলা কথ্য;
বিষন্নতা আর অপূর্ণতা ;
যা বিষিয়ে তোলে নিত্য।
