Eid Ul Fitr Journey from Dhaka to Bhola (2018) | NRD’s Tour 044

Md. Naimur Rahman (@iamnrdurjoy):

Day 1: 14 June 2018

Journey by Launch from Dhaka Sadarghat

I started my journey towards Bhola my homedistrict. Bhola is approximately
258.2 Km far from Dhaka. Launch is the only and most used transport service what has been being used in this route. So it was 14th June 2018 and my Eid-ul-Fitr holiday was about to start after that day. So I was in hurry to leave office at the noon of 12:30 PM. Actually In any kind of Holiday time, route to Sadarghat and Gulistan become so busy. That’s why a passenger need to arrive early to reach sadarghat in time.

I then went to Nabisco road Nakhalpara at 01:10 pm and was planning to catch a CNG to reach Sadarghat early. After waiting about 30 minutes I then found the mostly used BUS service of Dhaka what called 6 NO BUS. That bus took BDT 20 to transport me at Gulistan. In that day the whole road was very busy. For that reason the roads were full of Traffic Jam.

At 6 No Bus, Nakahalpara

It was 2:35 pm when I reached at Gulistan. Actually I had to leave the bus about 500 Meter away from Gusilstan Bus terminal. I was started to walk with my bag and baggage. It was a painful journey of mine. I had to walk about 30 minutes to catch any vehicle to go at Sadarghat Bus terminal.
I was about to bargain with the rickshaw pullers but they did not want to go at Sadarghat Bus Terminal due to Excessive Traffic Jam.

So at about 3:05 pm I found a LAGUNA what took BDT 30 to take me to Sadarghat Bus Terminal. Actually the real rate is BDT 10 but due to excessive Traffic Jam they claimed extreme money on that day.

At Leguna

After 31 minutes journey by Leguna I then reached at SADARGHAT BUS TERMINAL. I then again needed to walk for 20 minutes.
After purchasing Launch Terminal Ticket in BDT 5 I then arrived at 4:06 pm.

One Single room Cabin Ticket was purchased some days earlier that day. I found a Single Cabin of One renowned launch of DHAKA-BHOLA-DHAKA route MV KARNAFULI 9 at the rate of BDT 1,200. That room was fully furnished with Air Conditioned.

So at about 4:30 pm our launch was started to run. Actually this is not a normal time. All launch services of BHOLA have schedule to arrive from Sadarghat lauch terminal at about 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. But the launch left for the destination long at Eid time due to the extra passenger pressure for the Eid crowd.

DAY 2: 15 July 2018

Reached to Bhola and hangout with friends

After 9 hours and 50 minutes journey I then arrived at Bhola Launch Terminal at about
midnight of 3:20 am. As that was the last Ramadan day I had to take SEHRI. I had a plan to take
my SEHRI with my family as the terminal is about only 9 kilometer away from my home.

It took more than 15 minutes to check out from the launch due to heavy passengers. I then walked through the road and found a rickshaw with what I had a contract to transport me to my home at the rate of BDT 150. That time I still had plan to take my sehri with my family. But it was too late. I then purchased three pcs of Cake and one bottle Juice and took my sehri at rickshaw.
I then reached my home at about 3:45 am. I didn’t have so much plan in that day. I spend my whole day idle in that day. All I just do that I took my JUMMA Prayer and had a long time discussion with my dear friends.

DAY 3 : 16 June 2018

Eid Ul Fitr Day

EID MUBARAKH!
So my Eid day was about to start. I with my friends and family took our Prayer at 8:30 am. It was a great day for me. After taking Eid prayer we all brothers and friends did EID hug each other. We took so much photos and selfies on that day. And then my day was started.
